Sex MashAllah…Islam and female sexuality
By: muslimmatters.org

Many men and women in our communities live under the illusion that only men feel desire or have an interest in being sexual, and that women should not or cannot feel attraction, do not experience sexual pleasure, and can live healthy intimate lives without sexual satisfaction for lengthy periods of time. This leads to misunderstandings and disappointments about wanting sex, initiating intimacy, and/or feeling excitement when sexual stimulation occurs.
This series of articles contains the perspectives of several Muslim women at different stages of life who have grown up and lived in different parts of the world, East and West, and want to share some insights with Muslim men – both married and unmarried – who don’t want sexually repressed, bitter spouses and failing marriages. This is a look behind the scenes to aid understanding of a universal social issue. For the sake of privacy, each writer is identified only by her marital status. May Allāh bless all of us with loving, passionate, and fulfilling intimate lives.
Married 20 Years, On Learning and Teaching Female Sexuality
With all due respect to my beloved and respected Shuyūkh, to whom I owe much of the knowledge I have gained about my religion, and for inspiring me to higher spiritual goals in my life, I firmly believe teaching female sexuality should be primarily handled by females – especially those who counsel on marital issues, psychologically or spiritually, and are familiar with the extended intimacy problems amongst women.
We already have issues with Muslim women not being sexually satisfied in their marriages, and these issues are exacerbated when women hesitate before approaching a male scholar to discuss their sexual challenges. It is time for us to acknowledge a serious problem we are facing in our Ummah: the issue of female sexuality

Clean shaven people are more at risk than Bearded ones, study reveals
Contrary to popular belief, Beards may be more bacteria-resistant and hygienic than clean-shaven men.
According to a recent study of hospital workers found that those without facial hair are more likely to harbor dangerous bacteria than their more hirsute colleagues.
It was the clean-shaved men and not the proud beard owners who are more than three times as likely to be carrying a meticillin-resistant staph auerus (MRSA),a dangerous bacteria. The researchers speculate that shaving creates microscopic abrasions in the face that serve as prime breeding grounds for the dangerous bacteria.
The research took place in a hospital, where they swabbed the faces of 400+ staff members both with and without beards.
According to the biologist Dr Adam Roberts, it’s entirely possible that some of the bacteria found in beards have evolved to release powerful, antibiotic toxins that keep harmful bacteria at bay.
This was revealed in BBC show Trust me I’m a Doctor.

Reliance like Birds
Reliance like Birds
Umar (radi Allahu anhu) said: "I heard the Messenger of Allah (sal Allahu alaihi wa sallam) say, 'If you were to rely upon Allah with the reliance He is due, you would be given provision like the birds: They go out hungry in the morning and come back with full bellies in the evening.'" [Ibn Majah - graded hasan, Tirmidhi]
The reliance of birds is that they do not store their livelihood. They have full trust that as Allah provided them with their food today, He will surely grant their food tomorrow as well.
Reliance does not mean that the lawful means of earning a livelihood should be abandoned. Even birds have to leave their nests in search of their meal, and they get their food after some effort. So a Muslim should also seek his earnings through lawful means, but not be greedy.

Three Enormities
Abu Hurairah (radi Allahu anhu) narrated that Allah’s Messenger (sal Allahu alaihi wa sallam) said, “There are three types of people Allah will neither speak to on the Day of Resurrection nor purify them from sins, and they shall have a painful punishment. They are:
(1) A man possessing superfluous water (more than he needs) on a way and he withholds it from travelers.
(2) A man who gives a Bai’a (pledge) to an Imam (ruler) and gives it only for worldly benefits; if the Imam gives him what he wants, he abides by his pledge, otherwise he does not fulfill his pledge.
(3) A man who sells something to another man after the Asr prayer and swears by Allah (a false oath) that he has been offered so much for it whereupon the buyer believes him and buys it although in fact the seller has not been offered such a price.” [The Book of Al-Ahkam: Sahih Bukhari]
