Fighting in Al-Zabadani (50 kilometres north-west of Damascus) resulted
in hundreds of families fleeing to safety in Bludan, Madaya and Buqqin.
The Syrian Arab Red Crescent, working closely with the ICRC, sent
humanitarian aid to the displaced. The host communities provided
warehouses to store the aid, and set up medical posts to treat the sick
and the wounded. Some of the wounded were evacuated to a Damascus
hospital and returned the next day. There were three separate missions
that lasted three days each in Bludan, Madaya and Buqqin,
