Surat Al-Fātiĥah (The Opener) - سورة الفاتحة

Surat Al-Fātiĥah (The Opener) - سورة الفاتحة
In the name of Allah , the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful.
அனைத்துப்புகழும்,அகிலங்கள் எல்லாவற்றையும் படைத்து வளர்த்துப் பரிபக்குவப்படுத்தும் (நாயனான) அல்லாஹ்வுக்கே ஆகும்.

[All] praise is [due] to Allah , Lord of the worlds -

(அவன்) அளவற்ற அருளாளன், நிகரற்ற அன்புடையோன்.

The Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful,

(அவனே நியாயத்) தீர்ப்பு நாளின் அதிபதி(யும் ஆவான்).

Sovereign of the Day of Recompense.
(இறைவா!) உன்னையே நாங்கள் வணங்குகிறோம், உன்னிடமே நாங்கள் உதவியும் தேடுகிறோம்.

It is You we worship and You we ask for help.

நீ எங்களை நேர் வழியில் நடத்துவாயாக!

Guide us to the straight path -

(அது) நீ எவர்களுக்கு அருள் புரிந்தாயோ அவ்வழி.

The path of those upon whom You have bestowed favor, not of those who have evoked [Your] anger or of those who are astray.

(அது) உன் கோபத்துக்கு ஆளானோர் வழியுமல்ல, நெறி தவறியோர் வழியுமல்ல.

Surat Al-'Ikhlāş (The Sincerity) - سورة الإخلاص

بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم

Say, "He is Allah , [who is] One,

(நபியே!) நீர் கூறுவீராக: அல்லாஹ் அவன் ஒருவனே.
Allah , the Eternal Refuge.
அல்லாஹ் (எவரிடத்தும்) தேவையற்றவன்.
He neither begets nor is born,
அவன் (எவரையும்) பெறவுமில்லை (எவராலும்) பெறப்படவுமில்லை.
Nor is there to Him any equivalent."
அன்றியும், அவனுக்கு நிகராக எவரும் இல்லை.

"That which I fear the most for my ummah is an eloquent hypocrite"

Eloquent Twitter

The Messenger of Allah (sal Allahu alaihi wa sallam) said: “The thing I fear most for my Ummah is the eloquent hypocrite.” [Ahmad]

A hypocrite (Munafiq) is a person who dislikes Islam yet claims to be a Muslim. Eloquent hypocrites artfully use their tongues to sow seeds of doubt (in Islam) among the Muslims. The Messenger of Allah (sal Allahu alaihi wa sallam) worried much for his Ummah regarding eloquent hypocrites.

Umar bin al-Khattab (radi Allahu anhu) advised: “Do not be impressed by the twitter of an individual. But one who fulfils his duty and trust, and refrains from (transgressing against) the honor of people is the real man.” [Al-Bayhaqi, Al-Sunan Al-Kubra]

Muslim boys died saving Hindu girl from drowning

Grief united people of different religion in UP's most communally sensitive town Moradabad came together for the funeral of two Muslim youths who died trying to rescue a Hindu girl, Suman from drowning, although they could not save her.

The three bodies were recovered by the Army after a 36-hour operation on Sunday ¬ Danish and Noman have become martyrs in the eyes of Hindus and Muslims alike.

While Hindu women showered petals from rooftops as the funeral procession of the two young men passed through the city's streets, men from the community lent a shoulder to their `janaza.' “For me, the two are real-life heroes, “said Sakshi Mehrotra, a resident.

“Even if someone is dying on the road, people of this city remain mute spectators. But the boys proved life is more important than petty religious differences. “

There was heavy police deployment for the procession that began soon after special prayers for the boys. Clerics also read out prayers for the family of Suman and the jawans of the Army who had been involved in the operations.

“We hope that the communal amity which this event has triggered remains in our city, “said Ikram Qureshi, a local leader. Officials told the media that Rs 5lakh would be provided to the families of each of the deceased, besides a government job for one family member each.

Jobless youth finds unlocked ATM with Rs 24 lakh, calls cops

The Hyderabad police on Saturday felicitated a youth who found the cash box of an ATM with Rs 24 lakh unlocked and called the police.

Sheikh Latif Ali had gone to withdraw Rs 200 from a State Bank of Hyderabad ATM on Friday night when he found the cash box open with no guard around. He called the police who found Rs 24 lakh in the unlocked ATM machine. It was later learnt that there was no CCTV camera.

Ali, 22, completed his B.Tech (Electrical) this year and lives in a men’s hostel in Sanjeev Reddy Nagar. On Friday, he went to the ATM at State Bank of Hyderabad’s main branch in S R Nagar with two of his friends. “There was no guard outside and I did not find anything unusual. I inserted the card to withdraw Rs 200. As the machine dispensed the cash, a small door on the side of the machine fell open and currency notes fell out. I was dumbstruck as my account has not more than Rs 500. I asked my friends waiting outside to look for the security guard but they found no one,” Ali said.

They say, I'm a hard worker

They say, I'm a hard worker
I really don't know why
I work only when I'm awake
Most of the time they sleep at work

My father told me to revise
When my friends are playing
The same I practice in working
Then they tell I'm a hard worker

When they do the double work
I work smartly, concentrating
Only on the most urgent jobs
Which I'm able to deliver in time

I don't really interrupt others' work
Unless I'm asked for help
I do give suggestions
But never do their work

Muhammad ibn Mūsā al-Khwārizmī

Consequently he is considered to be the father of algebra,[6] a title he shares with Diophantus. Latin translations of his Arithmetic, on the Indian numerals, introduced the decimal positional number system to the Western world in the 12th century.[5] He revised and updated Ptolemy's Geography as well as writing several works on astronomy and astrology.

His contributions not only made a great impact on mathematics, but on language as well. The word algebra is derived from al-jabr, one of the two operations used to solve quadratic equations, as described in his book.

India's religious minorities and Dalits weep alone

By John Dayal,

India’s several religious minorities weep alone when they are in pain. So to do the Dalits and the Indigenous people, called Tribals or Adivasis.

There are a few vibrant human rights groups, who organize factfinding missions, go to the media and demonstrate before parliament. But there has seldom been a national outrage, cutting across ethnicities, languages and caste barriers, which would force policy and judicial reforms, or change the mindset that has fueled so much violence since independence.

The most terrible single episode in this tortured history was the massacre of almost 5,000 Sikhs, 3,500 of them in the national capital Delhi, in October 1984.

The chain of events began when then Prime Minister Indira Gandhi sent the Army into the Golden Temple, holy to the Sikhs, to neutralize a group of armed extremists. The Army killed the leader of the group, Bhindranwale, and destroyed the Akal Takht, the seat of supreme command of the faith.

Education of Muslim children

It is primarily the responsibility of Muslim parents to educate their Muslim children.
During the era of scholars such as Imam Malik, Imam As-Shafi’, Imam Sufyan-at-Thawri, and others, you hear them talking about their mothers teaching them the memorization of the Quran, fiqh, the hadeeth, etc., at home. That was the norm back then. We need to revive it to move forward.

"YOU HAVE TO RESORT TO DECEIT AT TIMES"

Narendra Modi - an “ideal swayamsevak” - would deliver on the Hindutva agenda unlike the first NDA government, the Vishwa Hindu Parishad supremo and one of the longest serving senior Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) leaders told HINDUSTAN TIMES's Prashant Jha in an exclusive interview.

The right-wing Hindu leader, who had a front-row seat at Modi’s swearing-in, said “tables had turned”. The polls were a “setback to Muslim politics” used by “foreign and divisive forces to destroy our identity,” he said. It was time for them to learn their lessons.

“Muslims will be treated as common citizens -- nothing more, nothing less. And, they must learn to respect Hindu sentiments. If they keep opposing Hindus, how long can they survive?” said the 88-year-old who has been a lifelong pracharak of the RSS, the ideological parent of the BJP.

Top Ten Questionable Parenting Decisions

Parenting is by no means easy which is why there are thousands of books on the subject and everyone has their opinion on the best way to parent. In fact even doing a list like this can be tricky because parenting is such an individualized task. However a list like this is possible because there are definitely some things that have been more than proven to be bad ideas. The goal of most parents is to raise happy and well-adjusted children whom contribute to society and while there are several ways to achieve this goal there are some things that are just a bad idea.

10. Being too much of a Friend and not enough of a Parent

Children really are neat people. They have so much enthusiasm about everything and haven’t had life dim their spirit. This is why it’s so easy to be friends with a kid. There is nothing at all wrong with being friendly with your child and finding the things they do interesting. There is no problem with engaging with your children and involving yourself with their lives. However, when you cross the line from parent to friend a child loses a bit of the structure they need to learn the way the world works.

What does "Jihad" really mean?

From the Quran, we conclude the word refers to striving in the cause of God, not warfare

Abraham: Original Messenger of Islam*

[22:78] You shall strive for the cause of GOD as you should strive for His cause. He has chosen you and has placed no hardship on you in practicing your religion―the religion of your father Abraham. He is the one who named you "Submitters" originally. Thus, the messenger shall serve as a witness among you, and you shall serve as witnesses among the people. Therefore, you shall observe the Contact Prayers (Salat) and give the obligatory charity (Zakat), and hold fast to GOD; He is your Lord, the best Lord and the best Supporter.

*22:78 Although all messengers preached one and the same message, "Worship God alone," Abraham was the first messenger to coin the terms "Submission" (Islam) and "Submitter" (Muslim) (2:128). What did Abraham contribute to Submission (Islam)? We learn from 16:123 that all religious duties in Submission were revealed through Abraham

France building more than 100 mosques

Colin Randall

On official estimates, the number of mosques in France has already doubled from 1,000 in a decade

MARSEILLE, FRANCE, 11 Sept. 2011

Between 100 and 150 new mosques are being built in France as Europe's biggest Muslim community seeks to end the controversial practice of people praying in the street because of a lack of places of worship.

Mohammed Moussaoui, president of the Muslim Council of France (CFCM), said the projects were at various stages, from design to near-completion. France is estimated to have up to seven million Muslims out of a total population of 65 million.

Most of the money comes from French Muslims, with much less help coming from overseas than in the past, Mr Moussaoui told the French radio station RTL in an interview to mark Ramadan.

Minorityism of the majority rule

By Kashif-ul-Huda, TwoCircles.net

A new regime is in town and there is a rush to pledge allegiance to the new power. The power brokers that reside in Delhi (and there are many of them there) need to make peace with the new power centres or be forced to close their shop, so they decided to sing paens to the new King of Delhi.

In past few days statements are floating from Muslim leaders and organizations ranging from telling Muslims not to fear the new regime to wishing a long life to the new PM to the nephew-faction of the oldest Muslim organization deciding to engage with Modi-led government.
But these are the outsiders who spent last few years bitterly opposed to Modi. They are just trying to be on the good side of the government. We have to look up the statements of the Muslims who can be considered insiders to understand what will be the fate of the Muslims in this new regime.

Najma Heptulla is a political nobody who spent a lifetime in Congress as one of the several Muslim faces and amply rewarded for it by not only being a Member of Parliament in Rajya Sabha for twenty-four long years but also being Deputy Chairperson of the Rajya Sabha for sixteen of those years.

How To Optimize Your Site Homepage For International Audience?

Businesses that operate in more than country or locale targeting different languages often deploy different websites, or different sections with language-specific content geared towards individual locales. While managing sub-domains and sub-directories with different URLs for this purpose is easy, it can be a bit tricky to have a common homepage for all these different locales. Here are some recommendations to help you create the right homepage on your website to serve the appropriate content to users depending on their language and location.

"The best of affairs are those in the middle."

Our beloved Prophet (sa) said,

"The best of affairs are those in the middle."

What is The Middle Path
The middle path is empty of desires - swerving to the far right or left, but one founded on balance - ease (when needed) and firmness (when needed). It is acquired by studying the Qura'n, tafsir, sirah, and sitting with scholars and communities who embody its spirit.

How to Achieve Wasatiyyah (Moderation)
The first and most important thing is to realize that being guided to Islam is proof that Allah has giving you the start you need to build on moderation. By having faith you are half way there! However, you are responsible for preserving it, causing it to grow and flourish.

Top 10 Kingmakers

Who leads the country? The President? Sure, in theory. But who actually makes all the decisions? It might surprise you to know that presidents and the like and mainly just figureheads – charismatic people-pleasers who get told exactly what to do and say by advisors lurking in the background. And how do these figureheads get there? Well, that’s often the work of those same shadowy figures. Welcome to the world of the “Kingmaker” – a political player who manipulates others into positions of power so that they can rule the country by stealth. And it’s not a new phenomenon either – some of the most famous Kingmakers were around thousands of years ago. Find out more in our Top 10 Kingmakers.

10. James Farley

When you think of great Presidents through the ages, Franklin D.Roosevelt’s name often crops up, as despite his womanising and drinking, he was a very popular leader. But less well known is his campaign manager, James Farley. An Irish Catholic with a keen business brain, he orchestrated FDR’s election as New York Governor in 1928, along with his re-election in 1930. When Roosevelt was looking for a presidential nomination a few years later, it was Farley who got him media support through the publisher William Randolph Hearst, as well as the backing of both Catholics and unions. He later fell out with Roosevelt over his own presidential aspirations, but not before returning him for a second term as President in 1936.

Dr. Bilal Philips

“There is no time for holidays”, says Bilal Philips, “when you realise how little time there is, and how much work has to be done for Islam.”Bilal Philips, once a Christian, is now an Renowned Islamic scholar. He received his B.A. degree from the Islamic University of Madina and his M.A. in Aqeedah (Islamic Philosophy) from the King Saud University in Riyadh. His deep study and understanding of Islam has won him the respect of ordinary Muslims as well as many learned scholars of Islam.

Born in Jamaica in 1947, he comes from a family of educationists. Both his parents are teachers, and one of his grandfathers was a church minister and Bible scholar.Bilal came from a broad-minded family, and though he went to church regularly every Sunday with his mother, he was never forced to go. He says: “Going to church was a social event, more than a religious one. What was being taught went right over my head.” When Bilal was eleven, his family migrated to Canada and for the first time the sensitive boy began to feel that all was not right with the world.

Eckhart Tolle - Death and the Eternal /அழிவிலிருந்து அழியாமைக்கு

                                                                  Eckhart Tolle on Death

 Death and the Eternal

When you walk through forest that has not been tamed and interfered with by man,  you will see not only abundant life all around you but you will also encounter fallen trees and decaying trunks, rotten leaves and decomposing matter at every step.  Wherever you look, you will find life as well as death. Upon close …however, you will discover that the decomposing tree trunk and watering leaves not only give birth to new life but are full of life themselves. Micro-organism are at work. Molecules are rearranging themselves. So death isn’t to be found anywhere. There is only the metamorphosis of life forms. What can you learn from this? Death is not the opposite of life. Life has no opposite.  The opposite of death is birth. Life is eternal.

I'm Only Human: I've been in love, and I've been heartbroken.

I'm Only Human: I've been in love, and I've been
heartbroken. I have felt so amazingly happy, I felt
like dancing, and so extremely sad, I felt as if I
couldn't live another day. I'm only human. I have
been stressed. I have been depressed. I have
been all alone. I have been joyful. I have been blessed, and I
have been grateful. I've gone through the trials, the pain,
and suffering of life. I have had ups and downs in my
relationships. I've been called ugly, and beautiful. I'm only
human. There have been those days When Live felt my heart
couldnt take the pain any more, and all I wanted to do was
wake up from this horrible dream I felt I was living in. There
have also been days, when my heart overflowed with so
much love, it truly took away my breath. I'm only human.
Ive been used, abused, and taken for granted. My life is
anything but picture perfect. I'm not the smartest. I'm not
the prettiest. I have been hurt by the ones Ive loved, and
rejected by the people I called my friends. I have felt
cherished, special, 1 in a million. I am only human. Ive
taken what life has thrown my way, and made it through.
Only by the grace of God, have I made it without being
defeated. Sometimes, behind the smiling face of those dear
to you, is a broken, hurting, wounded, abandoned, and
lonely person. Take the time to ask, show you care. Maybe
one day, when you are feeling as if you cant take another
step, someone will look you straight in the eyes, see right
through to your soul, and say: No. Your not okay. How can I
be there for you? After all We are only Human.

Women’s Rights and Duties and Liberation through Islam

Women's Rights and Duties in Islam...

Based on an article by Mary Ali –

Contrary to what many non-Muslims mistakenly believe, women in Islam enjoy many rights and duties. History clearly shows that the revelation of the divine message to Prophet Muhammad (S.A.W.S.) in the seventh century led to the liberation of women from various types of oppression that was prevalent in many societies of the world. The Quran and the Sunnah (traditions and practices) of Prophet Muhammad are the primary sources from where every Muslim woman derives her rights and duties. The following sheds light into some of those rights and duties.

Equal Human Rights

Fourteen centuries ago, Islam made women equally accountable to Allah in glorifying and worshiping Him – setting no limits on her moral progress.  Since men and women both came from the same essence, they are equal in their humanity and in earning of rewards for their good deeds.  Islam establishes the basis of equality among both genders. In the Quran, in the first verse of the chapter entitled “Women”, Allah says:

“O mankind!  Be dutiful to your Lord, Who created you from a single person (Adam), and from him (Adam) He created his wife [Hawwa (Eve)], and from them both He created many men and women; and fear Allah through whom you demand (your mutual rights), and (do not cut the relations of) the wombs (kinship). Surely, Allah is Ever an All-Watcher over you.” (Quran 4:1)

Daughters are always so special !!

On the first day of their marriage, wife and husband decided and agreed not to open the door for anyone! On that day first, husband’s parents came to see them, they were behind the door. Husband and the wife looked at each other, husband wanted to open the door, but since they had an agreement he did not open the door, so his parents left. After a while the same day , wife’s parents came , wife and the husband looked at each other and even though they had an agreement , wife with tears on her eyes whispered , I can’t do this to my parents , and she opened the door. Husband did not say anything, years passed and they had 4 boys and the fifth child was a girl. The father, planned a very big party for the new born baby girl, and he invited everyone over. Later that night his wife asked him what was the reason for such a big celebration for this baby while we did not do it for the others! The Husband simply replied, because she is the one who will open the door for me!
