"Yawm-ul-Khamees"
Thursday
The fifth day of the Islamic week is Yawm-ul-khamees, that is, Thursday.
It is a day which has many virtues as mentioned in hadiths. Nabi-e-kareem 
said that to Allah, no other day has so many values as the nights and days of both Thursday and Friday. Rasoulullaah said that on Mondays and Thursdays, the deeds of human beings (insaan) are raised in front of the Creator and he forgives his creatures (banda) except those who create division in families and among people. Allah ta'ala suspends his forgiveness for this category of people until they stop their bad habits and their bad deeds.

Ummul-mu'mineen Hazrat `Aïsha Siddeeqa (r.a) reports that Rasoulullaah said that if his ummat (people) would not feel difficult, it would have given the order not to begin voyages on Wednesdays but on Thursday instead as he liked it.

The holy Prophet explained to the sahabas who wanted to know about the virtues of Thursday, that it is a day favourable for the requests to Allah ta’ala concerning our necessities and that insha-Allah we shall be granted.

Dear brothers and sisters, if you have projects, it is good to begin on a Thursday to obtain success by the virtues of Yawm-ul-khamees.
There was a former king of Egypt (Miswr) who ordered to kidnap Hazrat Bibi Saarah (r.a) who was on a journey. Then Hazrat Ibraahim (a.s) asked for the assistance of Allah and this king became blind but afterwards requested forgiveness from Hazrat Ibraahîm (a.s) while releasing his wife Hazrat Saarah (r.a) and the king said that he did not know at that time the value of the prophet Hazrat Ibraahim (a.s) and thus the latter made du'as to Allah so that the king get back his eyesight and by the grace of Allah, the king got back his eyesight and he was so glad that he offered to Hazrat Ibraahim (a.s), a useful and very pious servant named Hazrat Hajrah (r.a), who thereafter became the second wife of Hazrat Ibraahim (r.a) and also the mother of Hazrat Isma'eel (a.s). So, it was on a Thursday that Hazrat Ibraahim (a.s) found Hazrat Saarah (r.a) and accepted as a gift, the pious Hazrat Hajrah (r.a).
It was also on a Thursday that Hazrat Yousuf (a.s) prophet Joseph, after a long separation, found his father Hazrat Ya'qoob (a.s) prophet Jacob and his remaining brothers too.
Also note that the first Thursday of each month has a very great value and inter alia, the awliya-Allah make the baÿ'at and name the khilaafats (caliphs) on Thursdays.
Also, if we cannot observe the fast (roza) every Thursday, it would be good if we could do it at least the first Thursday of each month.
Hazrat Abdullah ibne `Abbaas (r.a) said that Nabi-e-kareem taught to him to make 2 raka'ats of namaz nafils on Thursdays as follows: in each raka'at, after sourah al-Faatihah, read 5 times Aayat-ul-kursi and 5 times sourah al-ikhlaass. After salaam, read again 5 times Aayat-ul-kursi and then to make the du'as, which will be insha-Allah accepted.
